FAQ
Common questions
What is an ATS and why does it matter?+
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is software that companies use to filter resumes before a human ever sees them. Most enterprise employers route applications through ATS before recruiter review. If your resume doesn't match the job description closely enough — by keywords, formatting, or structure — it gets filtered out automatically.
How does ATSFit calculate the match score?+
ATSFit extracts key terms from your job description — skills, tools, certifications, action verbs — and checks how many appear in your resume. The score reflects keyword coverage, formatting compliance with ATS standards, and section completeness. A score above 70 indicates strong alignment; below 40 means significant gaps.
Do I need to create an account?+
No. ATSFit is completely free and requires no account. Upload your resume, paste the job description, and get results instantly. Your resume is processed only for scoring and is not stored permanently.
What file types are supported?+
ATSFit accepts PDF and DOCX files up to 5 MB. These are the two formats most compatible with real ATS systems. Avoid submitting resumes in Google Docs format, image-based PDFs, or complex InDesign exports — ATS systems often fail to parse these correctly.
Why is my score low even though I'm qualified?+
Qualification and ATS compatibility are two different things. Your experience may be excellent, but if your resume doesn't use the exact terms the job description uses — or if it has formatting issues like tables, graphics, or unusual fonts — the ATS may not register your qualifications correctly.
What does the 'Missing Keywords' list mean?+
These are specific terms from the job description that do not appear in your resume text. Adding them naturally — in your skills section, summary, or experience bullets — increases the chance an ATS flags your resume as a match. Never stuff keywords artificially; integrate them into accurate descriptions of your experience.
Can ATSFit rewrite my resume bullets?+
Yes. ATSFit suggests rewritten versions of your weakest bullets — stronger phrasing, better keyword integration, and quantified outcomes where possible. You should always review and adapt these suggestions to accurately reflect your actual experience.
How long are share links valid?+
Share links for your results are valid for 7 days. After that, the results are automatically deleted. We do not sell or share your resume data.
